October Newsletter

Dear Friends and Partners,

It’s been another busy month at the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children! In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education, Agenda for Children, and Women United of United Way of Southeast Louisiana, we are conducting the Louisiana Child Care Parent Poll, a survey to learn about the child care arrangements of Louisiana families with children under the age of 5. If you have children under the age of 5 in your home or know a parent that does, please take a few minutes to fill out or share the survey, which will be open until Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Click here to take the survey.

We also hosted two webinars for candidates running for office in the city of Shreveport and Lafourche parish to educate candidates on the importance of investing in high-quality early care and education and share what they can do during their campaigns and as elected officials to support our state’s youngest learners.

Earlier this month, Louisiana was well represented at the National Prenatal-to-3 Research to Policy Summit, where Louisiana State Representative Barbara Freiberg shared policy actions Louisiana has taken to help babies and families be successful for a more vital state.

We hope that you are taking care this fall! Thank you for advocating on behalf of young children and families in Louisiana!
