Dear Roundtable Member,

Last week, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) approved the revised Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) proposed by the ELDS Review Committee. The approved standards now continue through the normal process to become formal rule. Your advocacy helped inform BESE’s decision and makes a difference in ensuring that early care and education providers have guidance based on research and best practices to prepare our youngest learners for success in school and to develop later character skills that are critical for employing a productive workforce. It is imperative that BESE members know how much we appreciate them. Please take the time to send a thank you note to BESE members for their support on this issue.

Thank you for advocating on behalf of young children and families in Louisiana!
