On August 24th, we hosted a candidate information webinar that provided candidates with information on the current condition of early care and education in our state. We wanted to ensure that candidates continue to have the necessary data and research to build their campaign platforms. Watch the recording here!

 

Also, this month, LPIC founder Melanie Bronfin was announced as a 2023 Angel Award recipient from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, which recognizes outstanding Louisianians who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the state’s children.

 

As we head into September, we suggest you keep a lookout for two events! On September 28th, the Ready Louisiana Coalition is hosting its first-ever Legislative Session Appreciation Event at the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry at 9:30am. The Coalition's efforts to #SaveTheSeats were impactful for Louisiana's youngest children and we couldn't have done it without you. If you would like to attend, please register here!

 

From September 7th-8th, The Urban League of Louisiana is having its annual Empowerment and Policy Conference. This statewide convening is designed to examine systems, influence policy decisions, and enact changes that will positively impact African Americans and other underserved communities. LPIC Executive Director Libbie Sonnier will be participating in the State of Early Care and Education in Louisiana Breakout Session with Thelma Harris French, President & CEO of Total Community Action, Inc.
